How do I discover the AppManager Report Agent?

Resolution

For AM 6.0.x customers:

To install the Report Agent component, use the AMAdmin_AgentInstall knowledge script and set Install Report Agent? to 'Y' or use the interactive install from Setup.exe and select the Report Agent when prompted.

For AppManager 7.0.x customers:

You can push the AppManager Report Agent out to a specific AppManager Agent system via Control Center Deployment Tasks.

For all AM Report Agents:

To discover the Report Agent component, use the Discovery_ReportAgent knowledge script.

Formerly known as NETIQKB9063

The Report Agent does not need to be installed on every Server in the environment to generate and retrieve Reports.  A Report Agent only needs to exist on a single AppManager Agent in order to be able to report against all reportable data.

Due to the intensive process of retrieving data and generating Reports, NetIQ does not recommend installing the Report Agent on the same Server as the Management Server component.
