Environment

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager 6.x

Situation

Option to choose 'Use SQL Server Authentication' not available when logging into the Operator Console.

Resolution

To verify the SQL security settings:

  1. Open SQL Enterprise Manager.
  2. Highlight the SQL Server name from the left pane treeview.
  3. Right-click the server and choose Properties.
  4. Select the Security tab.
  5. Verify the Security settings.

Cause

Depending on the security settings configured in Microsoft SQL Server, the option to choose "Use SQL Server Authentication" when logging into the Operator Console may not be available.

In SQL Enterprise Manager, if the Security setting is set to "WINDOWS ONLY" then the choice "Use SQL Server Authentication"  will not be available.
