NetIQ Group Policy Administrator report displays inaccurate settings in the GPO report for two settings in the Default Domain Controller Policy.

symptom

The two settings in the Default Domain Controllers Policy below do not display accurate settings in the GPO report:

• Restrict floppy access to locally logged on user only
• Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged on user only

cause
The issue is caused if the GPO is created with Microsoft Windows 2000 SP1, because the descriptions for the above settings have changed from SP1 to SP2.

fix
To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps:

1. Launch the GPO Snap-In on a machine running Microsoft Windows 2000 SP2.
2. Reset the values of the above mentioned settings to Not Configured.
3. Reset the values back to Enabled or Disabled.
