Error: 'This version of Internet Explorer (IE) is not supported.' in Directory and Resource Administrator.

symptom
Assistant Admins receive the error when using the Web Console.

cause

This error can be caused if the mapi32.dll is not present on the machine where the Web Console is running.  This .dll is required in order to successfully launch the Web Console.

fix
A minimum of Internet Explorer 5.0 with typical setup components ( including Outlook Express ) should be installed.  If Outlook Express is not installed and you do not wish to install it, the mapi32.dll file can be copied into the \Winnt\System32 folder as a workaround.
