How do I update the Report Agent to query the QDB on a new SQL server? (NETIQKB8451)

How do I re-direct the AppManager Report Agent to a new QDB database?
Report Agent discovery fails with the following error:Discovery: Error Occurred. Event Message Detail:Connection problem to SERVERNAME : QDB.
Report Agent still logging into old SQL server after moving the QDB to a new SQL Server.
After moving QDB to a new SQL server the report jobs are stuck in pending start.
Report Agent discovery fails with an error referring to an old QDB repository database server.


To point the Report Agent to a new Repository:

  1. In the Operator Console select --> File --> Preferences --> Report Tab
  2. In the Data Sources window, find the entry for the QDB database
  3. Edit this to reflect the correct location for the QDB database, click OK to save your settings.
  4. Re-run the Discovery_ReportAgent Knowledge Script. The Report Agent should now function correctly.

In some cases, it may be necessary to first delete the Report Agent object from below the target machine that you are re-running the Discovery_ReportAgent job on.
