Additional mailbox aliases are generated after changing either the case of the user's account name or the mailbox alias.

symptom

Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) generates a different mailbox alias when performing the following tasks in the DRA MMC:

• Change the case of the first name, last name or initials of the user account
• Change the case of one or more characters in an existing mailbox alias

cause
This issue is caused by an error in the code that creates a new address if any changes are made to a property field that the proxy address is based on and if it is enabled for mailbox aliases.

fix

Hotfix Q12673 for DRA 6.4 resolves this issue. To install this hotfix:

• Ensure Directory and Resource Administrator 6.4 is installed on the Administration server computer.
• Run the DRA64000_HotfixQ12673.exe file on the Administration server computer.

This hotfix modifies the MCSOperationsCommon.dll file located on the DRA server. By default, this file is located under Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.
