Resolution

fact
Domain Migration Administrator 7.x

symptom
DMA does not show the correct statistics for user, group or computer migration count in a project.

cause
Incorrect statistic information has been found to be the result of too many actions in the Actions table.

fix

To resolve the issue and to allow DMA to work more efficiently set the Undo task to a limit of 100. This can be done by doing the following.

  1. Setting the limit within the DMA GUI:
    * Open DMA and select the Domain Migration Administrator folder in the left MMC pane.
    * Right Click and select View> DMA Advanced Settings.
    * In the DMA Advanced Settings pop-up box set the Undo Task Limit to no more than 100 and click OK.
  2. Removing excess Undo tasks in the DMA database:
    * With DMA closed open the Project Protar Database, found in C:\Program Files\NetIQ\DMA\Projects\<Project_Name_Folder>\<Project_Name>.MDB.
    * In the Tables section open the Actions Table
    * Delete older, unimportant tasks to get the record count down to about 100 records.
    * Close the Table and Database and reopen DMA.
