Resolution

fact
Exchange Migrator 1.x

fact
Exchange Migrator 2.x

symptom
Error: 'Failed opening source folder in EnumFolderSetAndApplyFunction' in Exchange Migrator.

symptom
Error is received when migrating Public Folders with names ending with a space.

cause
Exchange Migrator may not migrate Public Folders (PF) containing a space as the last character in the display name.

fix

To prevent this issue, rename the Public Folders as needed prior to adding them to the migration project.

If this issue is not noticed until after the PFs have been added to the project and migrated, please perform the following steps for all PFs that are experiencing this issue due to having a space at the end of the display name.

  1. Remove the PFs that contain the trailing 'space' and all of its sub-folders from the migration Project.
  2. Delete the PFs containing the trailing 'space' and all of their sub-folders from the target Exchange Directory.
  3. Rename PFs so they no longer contain the trailing 'space' in the display name.
  4. Re-add and re-migrate all PFs that were removed from the project.
