fix

To copy a user account to another ActiveView:

In the left pane, expand All My Managed Objects. To specify the user account you want to copy to another ActiveView, complete the following steps: If you know the account location, select the domain and OU that contains this user account. In the search pane, specify the account attributes, and then click Find Now. In the list pane, select the appropriate user account. On the Tasks menu, click Transfer. Specify the appropriate ActiveViews. Click OK.

fix

To transfer a user account from one ActiveView to another, the Assistant Admin performing the transfer must have either 'Copy User to Another Active View' (7.x) power or 'Transfer a User Account' (6.x)  power assigned in both the source and target ActiveViews. This operation does not remove the account from the source ActiveView, it merely adds it to the target.  Only Built-in Admins with the power to configure ActiveViews can remove an account from management by an ActiveView.

To copy an Assistant Admin from one ActiveView to another in DRA 6.x versions, perform these steps:

  1. Expand AD and Domain Explorer
  2. Select the domain and OU the Assistant Admin account you want to copy to another ActiveView resides in
  3. Select the Assistant Admin account
  4. Right-Click the account and select Transfer...
  5. From the Transfer user account to ActiveViews window, select the specific ActiveViews you wish to copy the account to and click Add
  6. Click OK to exit

To copy an Assistant Admin from one ActiveView to another in DRA 7.x versions, perform these steps:

  1. Expand All My Managed Objects
  2. Select the domain the Assistant Admin account you want to copy to another ActiveView resides in
  3. Type in the name of the Assistant Admin and click Find Now
  4. Select the Assistant Admin account
  5. Right-Click the account and select Transfer...
  6. Click Add
  7. From the Select ActiveViews window, search for the specific ActiveViews you wish to copy the account to and click Add
  8. Click OK
  9. Click OK to exit

This operation is not intended to be performed by a DRA Administrator or the DRA Service Account.  The Assistant Admin performing the operation will only be able to select ActiveViews that THEY belong to.  This operation is not intended to add Assistant Admins to ANY Built-In or Custom ActiveView available, but rather, just those ActiveViews that the Assistant Admin performing the operation is a member of.

note

The Move button item in the MMC refers to moving a user, group or other Active Directory object from one OU to another.  It does not refer to moving between ActiveViews.
