To create an ActiveView to delegate the ability to an Assistant Admin to be able to view ActiveView configurations such as ActiveView, Assistant Admins, Roles, and Rules properties.

ActiveView Creation in DRA 6.x:

  1. Launch the MMC interface while logged on as an Assistant Admin with, at minimum, Built-in Security Role.
  2. Expand the ActiveView management node.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the ActiveView Name field specify a name for the ActiveView.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. In the New Rule dialog box.
  7. Select Custom Rule and click Next.
  8. Select the Include option and click Next.
  9. In the What type of object does this rule specify? screen.
  10. Select Objects managed by ActiveViews and click Next.
  11. In the What are the criteria for this object? screen.
  12. Select All objects managed by ActiveViews.
  13. Click Next and click Finish.
  14. Select Assign Assistant Admins.
  15. Click Add User.
  16. Select the user account and click Add.
  17. Click OK.
  18. Click Next.
  19. Select the Add Powers.
  20. Expand Administration Rules and select the View ActiveView Properties, View Assistant Admin Properties, View Power Properties, View Role Properties, View Rule Properties
  21. Click Add.
  22. Click Next.
  23. Click Finish.

ActiveView Creation in DRA 7.x:

  1. Launch the Delegation and Configuration Console.
  2. Expand Delegation Management and select ActiveViews.
  3. Select New ActiveView and Next.
  4. Click Add and then Objects that match a rule...
  5. Select ActiveViews
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Next and give a name for this ActiveView.
  8. Click Next and Finish.
  9. Click Next and then Add and Users...
  10. Type in the name of the Assistant Admin account and click Find Now.
  11. Select the Assistant Admin account and click Add and OK.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Click Add and Powers...
  14. Type in  View Power Properties and click Find Now.
  15. Select the power, click Add, and then OK.
  16. Click Add and Roles...
  17. Type in Audit All Objects and click Find Now.
  18. Select the role, click Add, and then OK.
  19. Click Next.
  20. Click Next again and then Finish.
