Domain Migration Administrator 7.1
Error:Â 'e23650: failed to bind Winnt:\\netapfiler_machine/test loc ljm in \\netapfiler_machine HR=80004002. No such interface supported.'
When attempting to migrate NetApp Filer local groups,Â thisÂ errorÂ will beÂ received when the group membership updateÂ is attempted by Domain Migration Administrator.
As indicated by the error message,Â NetApp Filers do not support the WinNT provider.Â Â Domain Migration Administrator needs the WinNt provider to determine the group membership for the source group accounts in order to update group membership for the target group accounts.Â
The updating of group membership for NetAppÂ Filer local groupsÂ is not supported by Domain Migration Administrator.
Domain Migration Administrator supports the following in regards to NetApp Filers as found in HELP:
'Domain Migration Administrator allows you to translate security for files, folders, and shares on network appliances. Only network appliances that have full emulation of NTFS and Net Share APIs are supported. The Translate Appliance Security wizard allows you to specify a computer on which to run the agent.'
Because filers do not have default administrative shares, DMA does not translate the entire contents (such as Local groups, printers, registry, user profiles, user rights, and change default logon domain registry key ) of the filer. When you specify the share to translate, DMA translates the share and all files and folders below the share. Only the shares you specify in the wizard are updated. If you use the Process sub-shares option, shares that reference folders below the selected share are also updated.
In summary,Â it is not possible for Domain Migration AdministratorÂ to update group membership for Netapp Filer local machine groups or translate security for Netapp Filer local machine groups.Â Â The error "...No such interface supported." should be expected in this particular scenario.
Please note thatÂ NetIQ does not supportÂ the use ofÂ any other wizard otherÂ than the Translate Security on NetApp Filers when translating security on NetApp Filer machines.
