How can I use the Notify this Operator by External Command option to send alerts via the third-party system?

fix

You can use the Notify this Operator by External Command option to send notification via third-party systems. The default format for the Notification Command for external command is:

<command here> $Operator ID$ "OnePoint Event on $Source Domain$\$Agent$: $Description$ (view with $Event URL$).

You can view this from Configurations | Globalsettings | Notification Command Format.

Follow these steps to configure this from Operations Manager or Security Manager MMC:

  1. Type the external command in the above format where it says: <command here>.

  2. Go to Rules | Notification Groups in the left pane.

  3. Click the notification group you want to configure for external command in the left pane.

  4. Double-click an Operator to go to the Properties in the left pane.

  5. In the Command tab, type the Operator ID. The Operator ID depends upon your third-party software configuration. This could be any individual users, computers or any distribution groups.

    note

You do not need to type Operator ID on the Notification Command Format in the Global Settings.
