Resolution

symptom
A Pre or Post migration script does not run on a machine that is being migrated.

fix

This is by design.  The script will execute on the DMA console machine and not the migrated machine.

In DMA, you can associate a script with the pre or post migration process of a computer account.  During the migration, the script will execute on the DMA console machine either before or after the account is created. Thus, if the project includes the migration of ten computer accounts, the script will execute ten times on the DMA console machine.

A post-migration computer script allows you to set additional properties for the computer account after that object has been migrated to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 domain.  For more information on using scripting within the DMA migration, refer to the white paper "Customizing Domain Migration Administrator with Scripting" at the following link:

Chapter 9 - 'Customizing the Migration Process' in the DMA User Guide also contains information about using scripts with DMA.
