Assistant Admins with the correct powers can change the groupType attribute for groups in a Native Mode domain from within the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) MMC interface (DRA 6.x) or Account and Resource Management Console (DRA 7.x), but not with the CLI.  The same operation can also be performed with a script that uses the OnePoint ADSI provider.
