fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

symptom
'History of Usage' reports display unusual characters in Directory and Resource Administrator.

symptom
When viewing a 'History of Usage' report, such as 'Change Activity Detail by Actions', the display can have one or two small squares displayed between the field values.

cause
The 'History of Usage' reports take the information directly from the application log entries on the DRA servers.  The special characters are the tab and spacing format characters from the application log listing for that event.

fix
After the report is generated, you can use the link for 'Publish in MS Word', Word translates the characters and displays the information without the unusual characters.

note
Different screen resolutions in Windows can help when viewing these reports.
