fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

symptom
The Directory and Resource Administrator SDK includes a sample script that can be configured as a pre-task trigger in DRA.  This script changes the CN (Full name) field from %first %last to %last, %first and is usually bound to the UserCreate and UserCopy operations.  When entering the field values for the new user account, the Full name field still displays the account name in the %first %last format.

symptom
A pre-task trigger to modify a field does not work when creating a user account.

cause
A pre-task trigger executes when the operation it is linked to is initiated.  The operations in the example above do not run until the Finish button is clicked.  This occurs after all the appropriate property fields are filled out, including the Full name field.  Once the Finish button is clicked, DRA executes any pre-task triggers and sends the operation requests and attribute data (after the trigger modifies it) to Active Directory.  The change will be reflected in DRA and AD after the user account has been created.
