Resolution

cause
The Server Consolidator agent was not launched to nor run on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system.

fix

The solution is to change a setting in a Server Consolidator (SC) wizard. The SC agent must run on a server that is running Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system. In the 'Migrate Files, Folders, and Shares Wizard', on the 'Advanced Server Options' window, select the radio button for Run on another machine and specify the target machine preferrably being the cluster server. Complete the wizard and retry the migration.

If you need to contact support for further troubleshooting please be prepared to answer the following questions:

  1. What are the operating system and service pack levels of the source and target servers?
  2. Are any Windows Service Packs installed on the clustered Windows 2000 Advanced Server operating system?
  3. What is the operating system of the console machine where DMA is installed?
