What are the differences between my registration number, password, license code and authorization key

Registration Number and Password
NetIQ assigns a permanent product registration number and password when you purchase a license for Vivinet Assessor or Vivinet Diagnostics. The password cannot be changed. Typically, each registration number has one available license, meaning that only one copy of the software can be available for use at a time. Your registration number for a particular license will not change from version to version.
License Code
To obtain the license code, install the software and begin the registration process.
The computer on which Vivinet Assessor or Vivinet Diagnostics. is installed will generate a license code that is unique to that machine. Vivinet Assessor or Vivinet Diagnostics. will write this number to the registry of the machine during installation. For supported versions of our software, the license code begins with ?G-? and consists of a series of hexadecimal alphanumeric characters.
Authorization Key
The NetIQ registration server generates an authorization key that is linked to the registration number, password, and license code for the machine where Vivinet Assessor or Vivinet Diagnostics. is installed. The authorization key is valid for one installation only.
