cause
This error occurs in the Dispatch.log (\Program Files\NetIQ\DMA\Logs\Dispatch.log) when executing a DMA or SC task that dispatches an agent, as a result of inconsistent network connectivity or limited bandwidth.

fix

There is an option in Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) that lets you configure DMA for a WAN connection when performing agent tasks on computers. This tells DMA to send out fewer agents at a time, which will consume less bandwidth and thus help prevent these errors. To set this from the MMC console:

  1. Right-click on Domain Migration Administrator.
  2. Select View |  DMA Advanced Settings.
  3. Select the checkbox for "Dispatching agents to computers over a WAN link".
  4. Click OK.

note

For more information regarding how Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) handles dispatching agents over a WAN, please refer to the following knowledge base article:

note
For more information regarding tasks that require agents, please refer to Appendix C of the Domain Migration Administrator (DMA)  & Server Consolidator User Guide (\Program Files\NetIQ\DMA\Documentation\DMA & SC User Guide.doc) under the heading 'Agents'
