What does the DMADiagnosticUtil.exe (Diagnostic Utility) do?

fix

The DMADiagnosticUtil.exe is an executable diagnostic tool that was developed to gather information about your DMA installation and the environment in which it runs. This tool makes no changes to your environment, but should only be used under the advisement of Technical Support.

The diagnostic tool gathers DMA logs such as; migration.log, dispatch.log and some Microsoft files such as event logs and system information. In addition, the tool copies the DMA database, also known as protar.mdb, and project databases you specify in the tool's interface. When you specify to 'collect detailed environmental information', the tool performs the same default testing found in the Netdiag.exe utility from the Windows 2000 Support Tools.

The diagnostic tool places all gathered information into a ZIP file that is located at \Program Files\NetIQ\DMA\Logs. You should e-mail this ZIP file to dma-support@netiq.com for processing by NetIQ Technical Support.
