Resolution

fact
Exchange Migrator 2.x

symptom
Error: ***(1368) Error: ldap_search_s failed in EULDap::GetSiteServers for cn=Servers,cn=Configuration,ou=Ever, o=What [HR=0x80070718]

cause
This error could be the result of one of the following problems:

  • The LDAP protocol configuration at the Site Level is set to a Default Maximum Number of search results returned = "100"
  • Or the security context of the logged on account (on the Exchange Migrator Console) is not sufficient.

fix
Depending on the root cause there are three possible solutions for this problem:

  • Solution 1: Use a different Exchange Server in the same site to migrate the mailboxes. This may be the easiest thing to do.
  • Solution 2:
    1. Open Exchange Administrator.
    2. Expand the Organization tree to the site you are having trouble with.
    3. Expand the Configuration container.
    4. Highlight the Protocols container.
    5. Double-click on LDAP (Directory) Site Defaults in the details pane on the right.
    6. Click on the Search tab.
    7. The Maximum number of search results returned will be set to 100. Increase this number. For example, if you have 115 servers in the site, then you may want to increase this to 150 to accommodate any extra searches in the background. You may still have to do this even if you only have a few servers in your environment.
  • Solution 3: Use the following NetIQ KB article to check permissions for the logged-on account.
