symptom
Error: 'An unauthorized copy of SNMP was detected on this machine' Security Breach is generated by an agent running SNMP service.

cause
The Security Breach alert is generated because the agent computer running SNMP is not a member of Windows NT & 2000 SNMP Authorized Computers computer group. By default, this computer group is empty.

fix
To resolve this problem, add the machine name to the list of included computers in the computer group called Windows NT & 2000 SNMP Authorized Computers and then scan the managed computers.

To add a computer to the Windows NT & 2000 SNMP Authorized Computers group follow these steps:

  1. Expand the Rules snap-in in the OnePoint Operations Manager MMC.
  2. In the right pane, click Computer Groups and then double click Windows NT & 2000 SNMP Authorized Computers Computer Group in the left pane.
  3. In the Computer Groups Properties dialog box, click the Included Computers tab and then click the Add button to add computers.
  4. After adding computers in this computer group, run the Agent Manager scan to include new computers to Windows NT & 2000 SNMP Authorized Computers Computer Group.
