Error: 'An error occurred while creating the Window Tracker object: Access is denied.' (NETIQKB2022)

symptom
Error: 'An error occurred while creating the Window Tracker object: Access is denied.'

cause
The above error message is occurs because the DraDcomPerm utility does not set the DCOM permissions correctly for the MCSWindowTracker.exe.

fix
To launch the NetIQ Administration MMC interface without generating the above error message, perform the following steps:

1. Run the setup program.
2. Select Begin Setup.
3. Click Administration Server.
4. After the setup program detects the previously installed components, click Remove All.
5. After the client interfaces have been removed, select Begin Setup again.
6. Click Administration Server.
7. Click Next.
8. Select the desired components and click Next.
9. Select Custom.
10. Click the NetIQ Administration Server category and choose the Entire feature will be unavailable.
11. Expand the User Interfaces component and verify that all desired interfaces will be installed on the hard drive.
12. Click Next.
13. Click Finish.
