symptom
No objects from a particular domain are available for management in Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) and the following message is written to the Application Event log file on the DRA server:

Computer: MACHINE_NAME
Description:
Domain <fully_qualified_domain_name> (domain_name) (Managed,AD) (Startup load using newly-created domain file) began at 2001-06-15 13:55:38 and ended at 2001-06-15 14:00:27, contents unsuccessfully loaded, hr=c00436ce=(DraDomFile program aborted while writing file. The domain file is not usable and will be deleted.)

cause
This issue occurs if the distinguished name of a group member is corrupted.

fix
If the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) server is version 6.30 SP1, apply Hotfix Q12306 to resolve this issue.

To install this hotfix:

1. Ensure Directory and Resource Administrator 6.30 SP1 is installed on the Administration server computer.
2. Stop the MCS OnePoint Administration service.
3. Run the DRA63001_HotfixQ12306.EXE file on the Administration server computer.
4. Restart the MCS OnePoint Administration service.

This hotfix modifies the DraDomFile.exe file located on the Administration server computer and is normally located in the Program Files \ NetIQ OnePoint \ OnePoint folder.

3. Run the DRA64000_HotfixQ12308.EXE file on the Administration server computer.
4. Restart the MCS OnePoint Administration service.
