symptom
When attempting to install the NetIQ Products via a Terminal Services session on Windows 2000, you may receive the following error message:
Internal Error 2755.3 %path%\OnePoint.msi.
cause
This issue can occur if you attempt to install the Directory and Resource Administrator over the network by using a mapped drive.
fix
To work around this issue, connect to the share by using the Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path using the following syntax:
\\servername\share
Then start the installation using the Setup.exe.
NOTE: If you log onto the console, you do not receive the error message, even if the share is mapped to a network drive.
note
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows 2000. See TechNet Article PSS ID Number: Q255591
