Situation
How can I install agents to a different drive and directory from the default configuration of 'C:\Program Files'?
Where can the install location for a managed agent be changed?

Resolution
Security Manager has the ability to set a specfic drive and path for the installation location of Managed SM Agents. This path can be set via:
Launch Development Console
Expand the Configuration Section
Highlight the Global Settings
Open the Central Computer Settings
Use the Agent Install Shares to change the default drive for the Agent Install
Click Apply and OK to save the changes
Cause
There are times when the default path (c:\Program Files\NetIQ\) is unable to be used to install a managed agent.

These settings for agent share and system share are global for the entire configuration group. Also it is important NOT to change these settings once agents are already installed. If an there is a need to use a different install location for some but not all of the agents, those agents will need to be an unmanaged manual agent.
