fix

Neither Domain Migration Administrator nor Exchange Migrator should be used to migrate an Exchange server machine from one Domain, Site and/or Organization to another. Exchange Migrator will migrate mail objects (mailboxes, custom recipients, distribution lists, and public folders) from one organization\site\server to another. For Exchange 5.5, DMA provides a way to continue to use the Exchange 5.5 server by leaving it in the source domain and running the 'Translate security for Exchange mailboxes' wizard. The migrated accounts will then be able to continue using this Exchange server in it's original location. does not recommend moving the Exchange Server. Service accounts for Microsoft Exchange cannot be migrated using DMA.  Refer to the documentation for each product before you migrate service accounts for those products.  For more information about migrating the Exchange service account, contact Microsoft Product Support Services. Instead of using Domain Migration Administrator to update service accounts for Microsoft BackOffice services, such as SQL Server and Exchange Server, you should follow procedures outlined by Microsoft Premier Software Support (PSS).

Please see the following KB article for more information on what Exchange Migrator does migrate.

NETIQKB2146: DMA does not migrate Exchange Service Accounts. When migrating users one will have to practice extra care so that you do not migrate the Exchange Service Account
