Resolution

goal
Do the Exchange 5.5 servers and the Exchange Administrator computers need to have the same service pack level applied?

fact
Exchange Migrator 1.x

fact
Exchange Migrator 2.x

fix
Yes, it is important to make sure the same Microsoft Exchange Service Pack has been installed on the Exchange Servers and each Exchange Administrator computer involved in the migration.  Some LDAP communication problems can occur if the Service Packs are not the same.

NOTE:   The Exchange 5.5 schema changed between Service Pack 3 and Service Pack 4.  Migrating some properties from an Exchange 5.5 server running SP3 to an Exchange 5.5 server running SP4 can result in some properties not being updated correctly. If you are migrating from Exchange 5.5 to another Exchange 5.5 organization or site, be sure to apply the same service pack level to all source and target servers in the migration.
