Situation

Which properties related to a network printer can be managed by Directory and Resource Administrator?

Resolution

From a network printer's properties page, Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) can manage things like whether the device is shared and its shared name, its comment, scheduling, priority and so on. Because a print queue is also technically a network device, DRA has some management capabilities here, as well. From the Manage jobs button DRA can pause, resume, restart, or cancel a print job.
Any properties, other than those listed above, are functions of the print driver itself, an independent software package that DRA has no control over. Because DRA can manage only the devices and the properties associated with being a device, individual properties - such as paper source, default density setting, etc. (which are functions specific to each print driver) - must be managed at the workstation of the user initiating the print job.
