fix
Perform the following steps to initialize Directory and Resource Reporting and copy its database to a shared folder:

  1. Install Directory and Resource Reporting on a workstation or server that will be running the scheduled imports.
  2. Launch Directory and Resource Reporting. The first time the the reporting interface runs, a Directory and Resource Administrator server will need to be specified. Enter the server name in the \\computername format.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Yes to perform the import.
  5. Choose the desired import settings and click Import.
  6. When the import is finished, click OK.
  7. Click Close on both of the next two screens to appear.
  8. Exit Directory and Resource Reporting.
  9. Copy resulting database file from the client workstation to a shared folder on server the Assistant Admins have access to. The name of the database file is OaRept-DRA_server_name.mdb and it is typically located in the following folder:
      C:\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA\Reporting.
  10. Launch Directory and Resource Reporting.
  11. Open the File drop-down menu and click Select Import Database.
  12. Browse to the database file stored in the shared folder and click Open.
Note: If the database successfully loads from the share, a message will appear indicating this.
  13. Click OK.
  14. Close Directory and Resource Reporting.

To schedule imports to the Directory and Resource Reporting database using the OAREPT command, create a batch file that includes the following command on a workstation or server that has Directory and Resource Reporting installed:

    C:\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA\Reporting\OaRept /IMPORTBATCH.

To verify a successful import to the shared database, please perform the following steps:

  1. Launch Directory and Resource Reporting.
  2. Open the File drop-down menu and click Last Import Statistics.
  3. Verify the items listed under Category that match the import options selected above in step 5 have a current date and time stamp in the Completed column.

Administrators can now access the centralized database by performing the following steps:

  1. Launch Directory and Resource Reporting.
  2. Click No to perform an import.
  3. Open the File drop-down menu and click Select Import Database.
  4. Browse to the database stored in the shared folder and click Open.

Note: The default directory path for DRA versions 6.3 and 6.3 SP1 is C:\Program Files\NetIQ OnePoint\Administration\Reporting and the name of the reporting interface is Reporting and Query Tool.

An Enhancement Request has been opened with Development to include this functionality in a future version of Directory and Resource Administrator.
