Resolution

The Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) server has the following configuration requirements that must be met before enabling support for Microsoft Exchange mailbox properties:

  • Valid Directory and Resource Administrator license key with the Exchange Administrator module enabled.
  • Microsoft Exchange Administrator 5.5 SP2 client installed on the Directory and Resource Administrator server.
  • Account specified under Exchange Administrator policies in the Directory and Resource Administrator MMC interface has a mailbox on the preferred Exchange server.
  • Directory and Resource Administrator Server service account has the Permissions Admin role in Exchange on the Site and Configuration containers.
  • LDAP protocol is enabled on the Configuration and Server containers.
  • If Exchange 5.5 server is running on a Microsoft Windows 2000 or 2003 domain controller, change the LDAP port from 389 to 390, then stop and restart the Exchange services.
  • If the Microsoft Exchange Administrator 5.5 client was installed after Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA), the MCS OnePoint Administration Server service was restarted.

Once the above requirements have been met, perform one of the following procedures, depending on your DRA version, to enable the Exchange Administration module.

If you have Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x, complete the following steps:

  6. Specify the name of the Preferred Exchange 5.5 Server.
  7. Under Account Information, specify the user ID and password of the account mentioned in the above requirements.
  8. Click OK.

If you have Directory and Resource Administrator 6.30 through 6.60, complete the following steps:

  1. Launch the Directory and Resource Administrator MMC while logged on as an Assistant Admin with at least Built-in Configuration powers.
  2. Select Policy and Automation Management.
  3. Highlight Exchange Policies.
  4. Click Exchange 5.5 Configuration Rules.
  5. Check Enable Exchange Mailbox Administration support.
  6. Specify the name of the Preferred Exchange Server.
  7. Under Account Information, specify the user ID and password of the account mentioned in the above requirements.
  8. Click OK.
