Situation

How do I discover user-defined applications with AppManager?
How do I discover user-defined applications with AppManager, including internally developed applications?

Resolution

To discover user-defined or in-house applications:

  1. Start the AppManager Operator Console.
  2. Under the Discovery tab in the Knowledge Script Pane, select the Discovery_Application knowledge script.
  3. Drag and drop the Discovery_Application knowledge script on the target Server(s). This will bring up the Job Properties window.
  4. In the Properties for Discovery_Application window, provide the full path names for the applications to be discovered; use the comma as the separator.

For example:

C:\Ataman\Telnetd.exe,C:\winnt35\system32\llsmgr.exe,D:\NetIQ\bin\NetIQms.exe

The Application knowledge scripts can be implemented on the folder or individual Object to start a job.
