fix
Because the MMC display is kept in a file with an extension of .MSC on each Assistant Admin's workstation hard drive, a custom view can be saved and used by others. To provide a standard MMC view for other users, please perform the following steps:
- Install the latest version of the Directory and Resource Administrator MMC client.
- Customize the MMC view by deleting views not required and creating customized views.
- Change the MMC from Author mode to one of the user modes as described in article NETIQKB299.
- Close the MMC client and click Yes when prompted to save changes to the .MSC file.
- Copy the .MSC file from the following location:
- For DRA 6.4 and later, this file is called Directory and Resource Administrator.msc and is located in the folder C:\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA.
- For DRA versions prior to 6.30 SP1, this file is called NetIQ Administration.msc and is located in the folder C:\Program Files\NetIQ OnePoint\OnePoint.
- The Assistant Admins should already have the MMC client installed on their workstations. Paste the custom .MSC file to the following location:
- For DRA 6.4 and later, this file is called Directory and Resource Administrator.msc and should be copied to the folder C:\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA.
- For DRA versions prior to 6.30 SP1, the file is called NetIQ Administration.msc and should be copied to the folder C:\Program Files\NetIQ OnePoint\OnePoint.
- The Assistant Admins should now be able to launch the custom MMC.
