Environment
NetIQ SecureLogin
NSL 7
NSL 8
NSL 9 Client
Situation
How to uninstall SecureLogin from a workstation
How to make sure SecureLogin is completely removed from the workstation
Resolution
Uninstall SecureLogin through Settings, Apps & Features. Just select SecureLogin and uninstall it. This should remove SecureLogin from the workstation.
To verify, do the following:
- Reboot
- Make sure the following directory has been deleted:
C:\Program Files\NetIQ\SecureLogin
- Make sure the following reg keys are gone and delete if they still exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Protocom\SecureLogin
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\SecureLogin
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Login\LDAP
HKEY_CURRENT_USER_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Protocom\SecureLogin
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Protocom
HKEY_ CURRENT_USER \SOFTWARE\Novell\SecureLogin
HKEY_ CURRENT_USER \SOFTWARE\Novell\Login\LDAP
If you really want to clean up, you can also delete the following directory:
C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\SecureLogin (or maybe …\Roaming\SecureLogin depending on the environment)
Note: The User's directory is typically NOT deleted because it contains cache and configuration info that can be used during re-install.
