Environment

GroupWise 18

Situation

Issue duplicated as follows:

The server SLES 15 (SP1 and SP2) has primary and secondary IP numbers
1.1.1.1 is primary IP,  1.1.1.2 and 1.1.1.3 are secondary IP numbers
DOM1 MTA is bound exclusive to 1.1.1.1 and MTP port 7100
DOM2 MTA is bound exclusive to 1.1.1.2 and MTP port 7100
DOM3 MTA is bound exclusive to 1.1.1.3 and MTP port 7100

This results in :

DOM1 can communicate to DOM2 and DOM3
DOM2 can communicate to DOM3 but not to DOM1 and reports "Transport address resolution error"
DOM3 can communicate to DOM2 but not to DOM1 and reports "Transport address resolution error"

Resolution

Changing the MTA MTP port for DOM1 to 7101 all domains are having the link open and communicate fine so only the MTA MTP port on the MTA bound to the primary IP number needs to be different (unique) from all other MTA MTP ports used on the server. All MTA MTP ports on the secondary IP numbers can be the same.
