SMG Installation Proxy issues

Environment

GWAVA (Secure Messaging Gateway) 7

SMG on SLES appliance versions: 7.0.0.59, 7.0.0.13

Situation

Installation of the SMG on SLES appliance fails due to Proxy issues.

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by doing the following 3 steps:

  • running the updated proxy script and resetting the Proxy IP configuration;
  • loading the SMG update server certificate to the SMG appliance;
  • running the updated SMG boot script.

Cause

Proxy settings in the SMG admin console are not always provided correctly to the underlying appliance. This affects the installation process, online updates, and other updates such as AV.
