Environment

GWAVA (Secure Messaging Gateway)

Situation

How can quarantined messages that fire on a certain filter (such as SURBL) be excluded from the digest report?

Resolution

To exclude certain filters, that are set to be quarantined, from showing up on the end user's digest report, do the following:

1) In the SMG system admin. UI, go to Organization / Policy Management | Policy scan configuration | Inbound Mail Filter Policy (or the name of the policy that handles inbound email).

2)  From the services tab, drag down the 'quarantine control' node to the workbench.

3) Drag the Orange dot on the left side of the node to the 'filter(s)' that need to be excluded from the digests.

There should now be a line connecting the two nodes.

4) Click on the icon on the left side of the quarantine control node, to edit it.

5) Check the box 'disable digest'.

There are other options that can be selected instead of or as well.

Now, messages that fire on this filter will get quarantined, but will not show up in the digest report that is sent out to the users.
