Client for Open Enterprise Server 2 SP4
Sophos SafeGuard Enterprise encryption
Situation
After installing first Sophos, and then Client for OES, the system crashes with a blue screen upon reboot. If done in the opposite order, a blue screen happens after installing the SafeGuard client and restarting.
Resolution
Remove Sophos SafeGuard Enterprise encryption.
Cause
The Sophos SafeGuard Enterprise encryption is incompatible with the Client for Open Enterprise Server's credential provider. Sophos provided this statement:
"SafeGuard does have credential provider wrapping capabilities (More information: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/120262 Note: implementation requires Professional Services engagement).
Unfortunately, however I have confirmed that Novell (Open Enterprise) is currently not supported as a template for credential wrapping in SafeGuard."
