Environment

Open Enterprise Server 2015 with iPrint for OES

Open Enterprise Server 2018 with iPrint for OES

Situation

Authentications to the /ipcon page results in a failed authentication. If this problem is due to a licensing problem, then the following two symptoms will be present:

Symptom 1: iPrint Mobile log

The /var/opt/novell/log/iprintmobile/iprint_mobile0.log file shows the following error:

Caused by: com.novell.admin.iprint.server.beans.RestOperationsException: Internal Server Error
at com.novell.admin.iprint.server.services.impl.IprintLicenseServiceCommunicatorImpl.getLicenseFeatures(IprintLicenseServiceCommunicatorImpl.java:216)
at com.novell.admin.iprint.server.services.impl.IprintLicenseServiceImpl.getLicenseFeatures(IprintLicenseServiceImpl.java:58)
at com.novell.admin.iprint.server.rpc.controllers.IprintRpcServiceImpl.getLicenseFeatures(IprintRpcServiceImpl.java:532)

Symptom 2: iPrint features don't list within a browser

iPrint features don't list within a browser when hitting this URL:

Syntax:
https://<server_ip_or_hostname>/iprint/license
Example:
https://iprint01.mycompany.com/iprint/license

Resolution

Workaround:
Restart the license service
