Appliance is not able to register to local SMT service

Environment

ZENworks Appliance 2020

Situation

When trying to register the Zenworks Appliance 2020 to a local SMT service via the "Online Update" module on the appliance management console, the following error appears

"There was a registration failure. Verify the correct data was entered in the registration dialog."

"Online Update" registration to Micro Focus Customer Center is working as expected.

Resolution

Reported to engineering.
Workaround:

Login as root on the appliance machine terminal

Yast -> Software management -> Product registration -> Register via local smt server -> Enter local smt server hostname
