Filr Desktop Client 4 incorrectly deletes files from Net Folders

Micro Focus Filr 4.1.2

Situation

The Filr desktop client can unpredictably delete files from Net Folder(s) during synchronization of files which have been flagged "Make Available Offline".

Resolution

Fix:
Apply the 4.2 Filr Client which was made available in April 2020.

Workaround:
To prevent additional file deletions, disable desktop application access for the affected user(s), and allow them to work only via the web client. This setting is in port 8443 Administration Console > Management > Users > (select user(s)) > More > Desktop Application Settings. Click the "Use user settings to allow the desktop application to:" radio button, and deselect "Access Filr".
