Situation

This article provides information on how to disable replication in the Verastream Host Integrator Management Server.

There are instances where only one Management Server is needed or used and is not integrated in a cluster.  In these instances a customer may not want the Management Server to open the replication port 7846.

Resolution

Instructions for disabling the replication on the Manager Server.

  1. Stop the Micro Focus Verastream Management Server
  2. Backup the file “service-ctx.xml” in the “/opt/microfocus/verastream/managementserver/services/directory/META-INF” directory by copying it to another directory.
  3. Open the “service-ctx.xml” file in the “/opt/microfocus/verastream/managementserver/services/directory/META-INF” directory in an text editor.
  4. Change the “replication.enabled:true” value of “true” to “false”.
  5. Save the file.
  6. Start the Micro Focus Verastream Management Server
  7. The replication port should now be disabled.
