Environment

Reflection Desktop (including Pro, for X, for IBM, or for UNIX and OpenVMS)

Situation

Any of the three scenarios may be encountered.

1) Reflection Workspace launches, but presents either of the following errors upon an attempt to utilize it.

"System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module could not be found.
Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"

"Reflection Workspace - [New Tab]: Attachmate.Emulation.frame.exe
The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-heap-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. OK."

2) X Manager will not run, and presents the following error:

X Manager - Reflection X Advantage
Application failed to start because the Java program's main method did not start.

3) Reflection FTP will not run, and presents the following error:

rftpc.exe - System Error
The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-string-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling to fix this problem.

Resolution

Installing the Universal C Runtime will resolve these issues:

An alternative option would be to install the most recently released Visual C++ package:

Cause

Reflection Desktop requires the Universal C Runtime to be installed. This is usually installed on Windows operating systems by default; however, users can manually download it from the Microsoft website if needed.
