Reflection Desktop (including Pro, for X, for IBM) 16.0 or higher

Situation

IBM 3287 printer emulation to FILE drops Form Feed characters sent by the host from the output.

Resolution

Use the following settings in a Reflection Desktop 16 printer session to allow the leading Form Feed character to print to FILE:

    Print Transparent = YES
    Bypass Windows Printing = YES
    Print Suppress Initial Form Feed = NO
    Print Suppress Blank Pages = NO
    Printer Emulate FF with LF = NO

Additional Information

“Print Transparent†definition:
        For a 3287 printer session, select this option for “printer ready†documents (such as Postscript files) that require no page formatting from Reflection.
        In transparent mode, all page-formatting parameters (Characters Per Line and lines Per Page) are ignored.
        This setting is only relevant when Bypass Windows Printing is set to Yes.
        The default is No.

“Bypass Windows Printing†definition:
        Specifies whether to disable Windows handling of fonts, font size, and lines-per-inch configuration.
        The default is No.

"Print Suppress Initial Form Feed" definition:
        Select Yes to suppress the first form feed encountered in the data stream prior to any printable data.
        The default is No.

"Print Suppress Blank Pages" definition:
        This setting prevents blank pages from appearing in host print jobs.
        The default is Yes.

"Printer Emulate FF with LF" definition:
        This setting specifies whether Reflection should simulate a form feed by issuing line feeds until the end of the page is reached.
        The default is Yes.
