iPrint printer fails to install after upgrading to MacOS 10.15

macOS 10.15 (Catalina)


After updating the macOS to Catalina (10.15), iPrint printers fail to install with the following message:
Please enter the username for Local iPrint/CUPS user account:
Regardless of the credentials provided, the printer will not install.


Install the iPrint Client for Mac version 6.13.  This client will also be available via the OES Channel and iPrint Appliance Online Update channel sometime late October 2019.

  1. Go to System Preferences .
  2. Security and privacy -> General --> Allow apps downloaded from --> app store and identified developers-->
  3. Click Open Anyway
  4. Continue the iPrint printer installation


An update to the Mac Operating System requires an update to the iPrint Client for Mac.
