Situation

When a list of SMTP addresses id copied from Excel, Word, or Notepad and pasted onto the To line in a new Groupwise message, when saving to a new group, the group contains no names.

Steps to duplicate:
1.  Copy a list of smtp addresses from Excel/Word/Notepad such as below:

jsmith@yahoo.com
djones@yahoo.com
pgates@comcast.net

2.  Open a new message in GroupWise 14.2.3 client.
3.  Paste the addresses in the To: line.
4.  Click on the Address button in the new message window with the newly copied email addresses on the To: line.
5.  Notice the addresses copied already in the To: pane; click on Save Group at the lower right.
6.  Give group a unique name, and save to a personal address book by clicking Save, then close.

Now open the Address Book window from the main GW screen, select the personal address book you saved the above to, double click on the group in the right pane to edit the group you will see 0 contacts.

Resolution

This has been resolved in the GroupWise 18.2 client.  The ship date for this version is the October / November 2019 time frame
