Devices not syncing with GMS when connection settings are defined by an MDM solution

GroupWise Mobility Service 2014 R2

Situation

Android devices are unable to connect or synchronize messages using Google GMail when connection settings are defined by an MDM solution.

Resolution

Open the GMS Admin Console and navigate to the following page: GroupWise Mobility Service > Config > Device > Enable "Device Security Policy".   No other settings are needed to be defined in this section.

You might need to restart GMS to get the setting to apply.
