SLES 12 SP3 patch SUSE-SLE-SERVER-12-SP3-2018-2885 breaks GMS

Situation

Steps to duplicate:

1.Install patch SUSE-SLE-SERVER-12-SP3-2018-2885 on the server.

2.Afterwards, the GMS Administration Console will continue spinning when logging in and the systemctl status gms.service command will list the datasync-syncengine.service as failed.

3.The update installs, amongst others, these file versions:

python-setuptools-18.0.1-4.8.1.noarch
python-cryptography-1.3.1-7.13.4.x86_64
python-pyOpenSSL-16.0.0-4.11.3.noarch

Resolution

The python-pyOpenSSL-16.0.0-4.11.3.noarch file has been replaced with the python-pyOpenSSL-16.0.0-4.14.1.noarch file. Make sure the latter version of the file is installed.
