Situation
Attempting to install a Reflection ZFE Session Server on a server and specifying a remotely hosted Reflection Access Management and Security Server (MSS) results in the following error message.
Message received when installing on Windows or UNIX using GUI installer:
Message received when installing on headless UNIX using command line installer:
Unable to detect required Reflection ZFE components on the remote host.
Required Reflection ZFE components could not be detected on the host named
"remote host name or IP address".
To resolve this problem, you must run the Reflection ZFE installer on the
host named "remote host name or IP address".
Note: If the Reflection ZFE Session Server is not needed on the remote host,
you can de-select the checkbox for this component, and only the required
components will be installed.
Message received when installing on Windows or UNIX using GUI installer:
Message received when installing on headless UNIX using command line installer:

To resolve this problem, you must run the Reflection ZFE installer on the
host named "remote host name or IP address".
Note: If the Reflection ZFE Session Server is not needed on the remote host,
you can de-select the checkbox for this component, and only the required
components will be installed.
Resolution
If MSS was installed without using the Reflection ZFE installer then the required Reflection ZFE components may not be installed on the MSS server.
Follow these instructions to install the required Reflection ZFE components on the MSS server.
1. Copy the Reflection ZFE installation zip to a new directory on the MSS server.
2. Extract the Reflection ZFE zip (making sure to keep the original directory structure).
3. Start the Reflection ZFE install.
4. Follow the install by accepting the install agreement and specifying where Reflection ZFE should be installed (default: /opt/microfocus/reflectionzfe).
5. Use the existing local MSS installation
6.A. For Windows and UNIX GUI, de-select the "Reflection ZFE Session Server". This will only install the "Reflection ZFE Componets for MSS".
6.B. For UNIX command line install, enter X and press Enter to only install the "Reflection ZFE Components for MSS".
7. Continue the installation by either clicking next or pressing Enter.
8. The installation should finish without error.
9. Run the Reflection ZFE Session Server installation again on the Reflection ZFE server and the installation should complete without error.

Cause
The MSS server does not have the required Reflection ZFE components installed on the server.
