Client automatically empties trash after 7 days

Situation

In the client, Trash is automatically emptied every 7 days even though it is set to only empty on manual intervention.
In conjunction with this the customer had an IMAP account setup on an iPhone accessing the GroupWise account.

Resolution

Change the settings of the IMAP account on the iPhone, in the Advanced IMAP section, to not automatically empty Trash.

Cause

The IMAP account on the iPhone was set to automatically empty trash after one week.
